Zachary Sears is a cellist based in South Windsor, Connecticut, performing with ensembles across New England and beyond. He serves as Principal Cellist of the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and Teatro Lyrico D’Europa Opera Orchestra, and appears regularly as a substitute and guest artist with the Hartford, New Haven, Eastern Connecticut, and Worcester symphonies. A two-time winner of the Moshe Paranov Competition at The Hartt School, he has appeared as concerto soloist with the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Holyoke Civic Symphony, and The Hartt Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Zachary is a founding member of The Iroha Trio and has performed as an artist with the Steinway Society of Old San Juan.
Zachary holds an M.M. from DePaul University, where he studied with former CSO cellist Stephen Balderston, and an Artist Diploma from The Hartt School, where he studied with Mihai Tetel. His festival experience includes the American Institute of Musical Studies Orchestra in Graz, Austria. Equally committed to music education, he has worked as a private instructor and teaching artist in both New England and Chicago, including in the Chicago Public Schools system.

Lessons
