Zachary Sears is a Connecticut-based cellist serving as Principal Cellist of the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, with regular appearances alongside the Hartford, New Haven, and Eastern Connecticut symphonies. A two-time winner of the Moshe Paranov Competition at The Hartt School, he has performed as concerto soloist with Connecticut Virtuosi, the Holyoke Civic Symphony, and The Hartt Orchestra, and is a founding member of The Iroha Trio. He holds an M.M. from DePaul University and an Artist Diploma from The Hartt School.


Orchestral   Principal Cellist, Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra & Teatro Lyrico D’Europa Opera Orchestra; substitute artist with Hartford, New Haven, Eastern Connecticut, and Worcester symphonies.

Opera   Productions with Connecticut Lyric Opera (2022–2024) and Teatro Lyrico D’Europa (2025–2026).

Solo   Concerto appearances performing Shostakovich (No. 1 & No. 2), Dvorak, and Brahms Double Concerto with Connecticut Virtuosi, Holyoke Civic Symphony, and The Hartt Orchestra.

Chamber   Founding member of The Iroha Trio; artist with the Steinway Society of Old San Juan and guest artist with Fundación Musical de Ponce.
